Sustainable Saratoga has several initiatives for 2010.
Our subcommittee’s lead their respective efforts and we encourage the whole Saratoga Community to be involved at the level they are comfortable with.

These initiatives were decided upon by the Executive Committee in December 2009 and January 2010 and represent the starting point for us in 2010. These are our points of focus but do not represent the entirety of what we hope to have our minds wrapped around and our fingers in. In 2010 we intend to concentrate our efforts in achievable goals and gain visibility and credibility within the community of Saratoga Springs. 1. Cool Cities campaign in collaboration with Skidmore College and Mayor Johnson’s office.
2. Community gardens -urban garden plots
3. Monthly sustainability column
4. City Wide Street trees inventory
5. Home energy Challenge/ Education
6. Buy Local Fair/ Green Saturday
7. Bike to work promotion (in support of SHTN’s efforts)
8. Sustainable/ Affordable Housing (education/ advocacy)

We also hope to expand our reach by partnering with educational organizations and allied community groups in organizing events and learning opportunities.
